Everything you need to know
Yes 🤍 Maya was born deaf.
She’s healthy, happy, and lives a calm, cozy life — just without sound.
We noticed Maya didn’t react to noises at all. No clapping, no door sounds, no sudden movements — but she did react to vibrations and touch. A vet later confirmed it.
Not in a bad way at all.
Maya navigates the world through sight, routine, and feeling. She’s confident, playful, and very chill.
Because Maya would sleep forever 😴
Since she can’t hear alarms or everyday sounds, she might oversleep. We gently wake her for meals, playtime, or cuddles.
White cats with certain genetics have a higher chance of being born deaf.
It’s linked to pigmentation not lifestyle or care. Maya is a perfect example of that.
Thanks for being here 🤍 — love, Maya
